Everything in the landscape around them spoke of autumn. The sea was roaring in the distance, the fields were bare. The brook valley below Green Gables overflowed with purple flowers. The @Lake of @Shining @Waters was blue --not a sky blue or an azure blue, but a clear, steadfast, serene blue as if looking at it would make all one's troubles disappear.
